Acura RL Engine Specifications
The Acura RL is the flagship car of Honda’s North America luxury brand Acura. The current generation Acura RL is a rebadged version of the fourth-generation Honda Legend and replaced the Acura Legend in 1996. The very first Acura RL rolled off the assembly line on January 4, 1996. It will receive a V8 engine in the 2011 model.
In 2006, the Acura RL was also sold with the optional ‘Technology Package’ including features such as adaptive cruise control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Michelin PAX run-flat tires. In addition to the base trim level, the 2007 Acura RL was available with the Technology Package or the Technology and CMBS/PAX Packages.
In the 2009 model year, the Acura RL was completely redesigned, it made its introduction at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6, 2008. The sedan was released on July 1, 2008 to dealerships. For the exterior, its engine is upgraded to 3.7L with 300 hp (220 kW) VTEC V-6 engine, a powertrain shared with the Acura MDX. It increased its exterior dimensions a few inches. For the interior, the wood-grain trim comes as a standard feature, the climate control adds a fan-speed control, and an air flow selector making it easier to use, along with the vents that are redesigned. The navigation system adds a new route system. The seats are now built for heating and cooling. It adds a 5-speed automatic transmission that is similar to the MDX’s.
